Welcome to your first step in investing into YOU! The priority should always be YOU!
It has been a personal desire of mine to be a listening ear…to provide space for others… to support others in navigating life challenges. I strive to engage others through an empathetic approach to allow the space and opportunity to embrace vulnerability. During our work together, we will delve deep in uncovering our inner selves and discovering, establishing and embracing our new realities.
My name is Dominique J. Meyers, and I am a Licensed Master of Social Work in the State of Connecticut. My educational background includes receiving my B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. Furthermore, I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. I have been in the human services and social work field for over 10 years and have experience in the areas of early childhood, intimate partner violence, mental health and child protection services. My experience has allowed me to work with women, families and children from all walks of life.
With my experience, I am looking to support those navigating life challenges and increasing the skill of resiliency beyond circumstances. I will engage with you through a number of approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and will be looking to engage you in EMDR, if appropriate.
Your journey is yours alone. I am here to support the introspective work you will engage in to maneuver through your journey. Whether it’s reclaiming your purpose, overcoming traumas, feelings of anxiousness, or just wanting to be heard… I am here for it all. Let’s talk about it! I look forward to this endeavor with you…investing in you!
